2019 Michael Hall Eden Valley Syrah, Flaxman’s Valley Magnum
At 520m elevation the Naimanya vineyard is amongst the highest Shiraz vineyards in South Australia. Adjacent to the Kaiserstuhl Conservation Park, redolent with prehistoric rock and vegetation, it’s composed of degraded sandstone and granitic gneiss with a high quartz content.
Hand picked on 11th April, 80% destemmed, 20% whole-bunch fermented, all indigenous yeast, pressed to French oak (20% new), matured for 20 months in barrel. Unfined. 40 magnums produced.
Closed with cork under wax and presented in hand crafted timber boxes made at Barossa Enterprises, a fantastic non-profit local company that is the largest employer of People with Disability in regional SA.
